Modern Kitchen Refresh
A boxed-in, dimly lit kitchen joined to the dining end — with cupboards that finally serve a household cooking nightly.
Project Overview
The Challenge
The old kitchen sat apart from the dining room behind a structural wall, glowed under one ceiling rose, and offered scant set-down beside the hob. Corner units devoured pans, while meals happened in relays round a cramped table.
Our Approach
We lifted the partition onto a calculated beam, shifted the hob to free worktop either side, and fitted a four-seat island. Deep pans drawers ousted dead corners, under-unit strips backed fresh pendants, and quartz tops with a tall splashback simplified wipe-downs.
- Wall removal with steel beam
- Seating island for four
- Deep-drawer storage zones
- Quartz counters & tile

The Outcome
The household now cooks and dines in one linked room. Worktop stretches doubled, each pan owns a drawer, and light moods move from bright prep to mellow suppers. Finished to programme, with only one owner-requested larder extra.
