Open living and dining space with staircase and pendant lighting

Interior Renovation · 6 Weeks

Open Living Space

Three shut-off boxes turned into one daylight-rich living zone — partition lifted, boards levelled, views opened from cookspace to stair.

Project Overview

The Challenge

Divided lounge, diner, and corridor made the ground floor feel poky despite ample metres. Trio of floor coverings sliced it further, while the stair lurked gloomily behind a dwarf wall.

Our Approach

Following structural checks we took the partition onto a flush steel, ran one unbroken oak floor wall to wall, and aired the stair with a slim metal-and-glass rail. Pendant bunches mark the dining zone as downlights rinse the lounge wall — a single room, three legible moods.

  • Load-bearing wall removal
  • Continuous oak flooring
  • Staircase refinish + balustrade
  • Zoned pendant & recessed light

The Outcome

Sunlight now lands in the hall, meals gather round a decent table, and the stair reads as a highlight rather than a block. Sealed, staged phases let the owners remain in situ — closing with a single serene, spotless handover.
